Project meeting in Turkey
MARCH 2022
5th Project Meeting, War in Films, in Turkey
1st EPAL of Karditsa, continuing its European course in 2022, despite the last-minute difficulties as three (3) students failed to participate in the mobility (two due to virus and one due to covid), traveled to Turkey for the European Erasmus + program entitled: "War in Films" and code 2019-1-PL01-KA229-064975_2. Two students (finally) accompanied by our school teachers, Gkouma Asterio and Simita Maria, involved in the 5th project meeting (the final one) which took place in Aydin in Turkey from 14 to 18 March 2022. The participating countries in this programme are Greece, Estonia, Poland, Turkey and Belgium.
The main deliverable of the work is a film entitled "The violinist". The script of the film is based on the anti-war book "The Mozart Question" by Michael Morpurgo. This book is one of the three of its kind in the "WAR PLAYS" series. In this meeting the film was completed and in a short time after the appropriate editing that will be needed, it will be available for watching on our school channel on you tube.
This particular project due to the war in Ukraine became so topical that students from all participating countries, on the occasion of its title, decided to make a pun through the art of painting. So, they wanted to send their own message. A very moving and special moment, which will be engraved deep in our memory.
We should also mention the cultural part with the visits to some world-famous sights. So, all these days we visited the Archaeological Museum of Aydin, the Museum of the Republic of Adnan Menderes, the Christian church which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Also, the village of Sirince, which is a well-known tourist destination. Of course, the most important moment was the visit to the archeological site of Ephesus. A place of incredible beauty, size and culture. A world-famous site dominated by the Celsus Library and the huge ancient theater.
With these strong images, with new friends from all the countries that participated, and with a film that became topical due to the war in Ukraine, the 1st EPAL of Karditsa completed the mobilities for this Erasmus+ programme, which will surely be strongly engraved in the mind and the hearts of all the students and teachers, who participated in his activities.
Note that all activities were carried out always taking into account the protection and hygiene measures against the covid-19 pandemic.
1st EPAL of Karditsa, has undertaken in the past and will continue to do so, innovative actions that contribute to improving the quality of education provided to our students. He has also made efforts to take advantage of opportunities that offer our teachers and students even more knowledge and experience, which will prove useful for their schoolwork and personal life.

Project meeting in Estonia
FEBRUARY 2022
4th Project Meeting, War in Films, in Estonia
1st EPAL of Karditsa, continuing its European course in 2022, travelled to Estonia for the European Erasmus + programme entitled: "War in Films" and code 2019-1-PL01-KA229-064975_2. Five students accompanied by our school teachers, the principal Dailiani Ioanna and Simita Maria, involved in the 4th project meeting which took place in Tamsalu in Estonia from 14 to 18 February 2022. The participating countries in this programme are Greece, Estonia, Poland, Turkey and Belgium.
The main deliverable of the work is a film entitled "The violinist". The script of the film is based on the book "The Mozart Question" by Michael Morpurgo. This book is one of the three of its kind in the "WAR PLAYS" series. The shooting of the first part of the film took place at this meeting. The film will be completed at the last meeting of the partners in Turkey. All the students from all the participating countries have a role in the film, as actors, extras, screenwriters, directors, cameramen, sound engineers and generally they are the ones who participate in any position the film needs to be completed.
Indicative are some of the benefits that the students gained as described by themselves: (a) learning how a film can help understand and interpret historical events. Film as an important tool in education – a supplement to history books, (b) organizing group work, dividing roles/tasks in a group. Using ICT skills to write a script, evaluating sources on the Internet, (c) use English at a high level to support the script and many more that cannot be captured in a few lines of a text, but we are sure that they will accompany them for a lifetime.
Note that all activities were carried out always taking into account the protection and hygiene measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.

OCTOBER 2021
3rd Project Meeting, War in Films, in Karditsa
"War in Films" with code 2019-1-PL01-KA229-064975_2 is one of the European Erasmus + programs that implements 1st EPAL. of Karditsa. The 3rd meeting of the project took place in Karditsa from October 25-29, 2021. Our school welcomed students and teachers from Estonia, Poland, Belgium and Turkey.
All these days a lot of different actions and activities took place. Greek and European partners attended presentations on topics such as: "The importance of the EU in preventing future wars" and "The impact of migration as a result of war", virtual tours to the Film Museum of Thessaloniki and the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, while on the day of our national anniversary, October 28th, we dedicated it to Ioannina with visits to the Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Greek and the castle of Ioannina. Also, during these days, they visited Meteora, World Heritage Monument and Lake Nikolaou Plastira. On Friday, October 29, only the heads of the missions due to the restrictive measures against the pandemic, had the opportunity to visit the town hall of our city and talk with the mayor Mr. Tsiakos Vassilios, whom we warmly thank for the reception and the time dedicated.
The students who participate in this project also have the very important role of the actor, as the final deliverable of the play is the film ‘The Violinist’. Students from all the partners’ schools have already made some amateur films about the final product. In our city these days, the foundations were laid (roles, rehearsals, sets, costumes, direction, etc.) for the completion of the film, which will take place in Belgium and Turkey, to the more professional standards.
Students and teachers, all these days became a group that lived tiring but beautiful days. All of us, happy and excited, renewed our appointment for the 4th meeting of the program which will take place in Belgium in the first months of 2022.
Note that all activities were carried out always taking into account the protection and hygiene measures against the covid-19 pandemic.

Project corner
One of the basic actions of the European Program entitled «War in Films», in which our school is participating, is the ‘project corner’. Its role is very important for any European program. For this reason, immediately after the first meeting in Tallinn, Estonia in November 2019, with the participation of teachers from all over Europe, we started the construction of the project corner. The corner was filled with photos of the activities and educational visits to museums, monuments and places related to the program.
