POLAND
One of the most important features of each project implementation is its dissemination and communication. We want our students, teachers, parents, educational authorities and anybody else visiting our school to be aware of the project we run. In this way, we not only inform about the project itself but also show the connection between Poland and European Union in international cooperation.
School CINECLUB
Film productions have become an inseparable part of contemporary culture showing the past, present and future in an interesting way. We live in the time of picture civilization, when text, as we know it, has become more and more obsolete and competes with icons, cartoons, signs and abbreviations of different kind. Now cinematography has an important part to play as it pictures the world in a deeper way than FB conversation or Youtube films. Therefore, promoting valuable films is important for several reasons: it brings the world of movies closer, which seems an indispensable part of education, gives food for thought, shows the world from a different perspective and offers and interesting way of spending free time.
Considering all, we suggest establishing a school CineClub, where different productions can be presented. Each meeting consists of three modules: an introduction where the teacher as well as data about the film itself present political, historical, and social or any other background. The second module is the film and the third the discussion afterwards based on the Movie Card and individual ideas of the club members. The Movie Card is filled in partly during the classes and partly at home – they will make up a portfolio containing also leaflets and press cutouts about films and actors.
The classes take part every two weeks on Friday afternoons and occasionally we go to the cinema to watch the latest productions.
We do hope the School CineClub will be successful in your schools as well.
